Randomness-again!

Okay, seriously....where has the summer gone? Sheesh!! I had set out do accomplish all sorts of things and go all sorts of fun places and even though we did do some really fun things this summer, I feel somewhat sad that a lot of the things on my "list" didn't get done and there went another summer flying right past me! I have been so behind on documenting the adorable things my kiddos do and say that I had to kick myself in gear and get some of these up even though they're not my most recent ones.

Mya: Now 1yr and 8 months old and growing so tall! She is so funny- she climbs the rock wall on our play set all by herself, climbs up on all of my counters and puts on everyone else's shoes and clothes. She always wants my "dum" when we get in the car (gum) and eats every last piece in the package if I don't catch her fast enough :) She loves yogurt, melon, veggies and anything sweet and is my little cuddle-bug who thinks she is as big as her brother. She wants to ride his big bike sooooo bad! She adores Eli and is a fish in the water. She has no fear of anything and loves life. She is so interested in bugs and will study them and let them crawl on her all while laughing. She's also a streaker and will take off her diaper any chance she gets so she can run naked through the yard. She has been my easiest napper-she enjoys a nice long nap in the afternoon and smiles when I lay her in her bed. She runs on her tiptoes and has a little princess bounce and skip to it. Her eyes light up and her smile is so big that she brightens any room. I am so in love with this little girl and her cute little pig tails-life would not be near as sunny without Mya.

Eli: 3 1/2 years My soft on the inside and very sensitive tough guy-he's so competitive and hates to lose and if he does it breaks his heart. He is so helpful with his sister and I've caught him hugging her and telling her everything is okay and it melted my heart. He's all boy and loves the dirt, trucks, racecars and sports. He says the funniest things like "I'm getting married tomorrow" me: oh really, who's the lucky girl? Eli: "Mya" hee hee Grandma: "I'm pooped!" Eli: (he walks outside to where papa is) Papa: Where's grandma?" Eli: "She's inside-she poopeded her pants!" and so many other things that I can't even remember. He's so cute! He's been taking swimming lessons and goes on the kickboard all by himself. He's already asking for a pinata at his birthday party (in January) He is very coordinated and rides his scooter really well for so young-we go on long walks on the canyon and he keeps me running so I can keep up with him. I love his adorable smiles and everything about this little guy, he's growing so fast and he's become so independent. He's high energy and full of it! :)

Lately

Lately both Mya (16m) and Eli (3yrs) have been growing up like crazy! I turn around and Mya is now saying all kinds of little "words" and Eli has been saying lots of very profound things that sometimes make me think he's too smart to come from me, lol. Eli is very intuitive and he picks up on the littlest details and emotions that I have to be careful sometimes because he's becoming so much older than his age. Mya is a little spitfire and has quite the sassy attitude these days. She loves to dance and shake her booty to any beat that comes on and steals Eli's toys he's playing with when he looks the other way. He has a bowling set that he loves and he sets up all the pins so patiently and meticulously and the minute he turns around to grab his ball she runs as fast as she can to grab one of the pins and then bolts for either Taner or me to save her from Eli, laughing the whole time. It cracks us up.
She's now telling me "no" on everything and she has this look she gives me if the food I fix for her is not what she wanted. She even threw our remote in the trash. But then she's such a snuggler and a lover and we just can't get enough of these two.
Just this morning I asked Eli what he thought he wanted to be when he grew up and he thought about it really hard and then said ".....not batman......... just a man". I had to laugh.
They keep me on my toes!

Is it Spring yet?

I've been so excited to see signs of spring and green grass starting to grow!! Spring is definitely on it's way and I just had to get some Easter pictures of these little rugrats to get us in the mood. It's been so nice lately, we've been raking, playing outside in our t-shirts even though we should still be wearing our coats, and leaving all the windows open to enjoy the fresh air! Sadly though, I woke up to a new blanket of snow on the ground and I thought I would be really depressed about it but actually we're just enjoying the last bit of winter while we can since it won't be long before it's all gone. Being back in Idaho with all the seasons has been a fun change and also a challenge with keeping the kids busy but I just love it here and couldn't be happier. I hope you are all enjoying the signs of spring andI hope you have a wonderful Easter with family and friends.

Superman

This picture pretty much sums it up........Eli is superman! First off, sorry he's in his underwear, I know that it might be considered a little inappropriate for me to showing this online however this is truly how he spends his day and I have to smile when I see this picture. I guess you're lucky, most of the time he's running around naked, so you got the mild version :) This guy keeps me on my toes and is such a special part of my day. Mya and I have been sooooo sick this last week and he was so sweet and would ask me every morning, "how you feeling today mommy?" and would bring me drinks and blankies and was such a good nurse. Love him!
I think we're finally feeling better, thank goodness and we can get back to our normal lives. You should've seen the pile of laundry I had to tackle, SCARY!! Tan did his best to keep on top of the necessary things that needed to be done around the house and I was so thankful but now I need to dig in and get my house back in shape and really deep clean everything. I guess I have my "superman" to help me, right? hee hee Oh, and yes, this is from right before Christmas-ha ha! You were probably thinking I liked to keep my stockings up all year round :)

Silly Stinkers

I've been playing with a bunch of different lighting situations in my "studio" and so guess who gets to be my little helpers? hee hee Even though we're just goofing around I still can't get enough of these cute little mugs. I've got some super cute kiddos coming this weekend for the Valentine Mini Sessions and I can't wait to see how they turn out. Should be fun! Happy Monday to you all!

Eli

What can I say, this boy makes my heart melt. I love every little thing about him and those eyes let him get away with too much around our house :) I'm sooooo behind on all of my personal editing but I had taken these and just loved them so I thought I'd get them finished as fast as I could. It was actually a beautiful day today so we decided to be outside and enjoy the fresh air. It was so funny......the other morning Eli came to our room after he woke up and he always asks for cereal right off the bat. This time was no different except I guess I wasn't fast enough getting out of bed that he turned around in the doorway and said "well....are you coming or what? " I guess I was a little surprised and both me and Tan just looked at each other and cracked up. Yes, I am the cereal slave. Today I had noticed a small scrape on his leg and asked him what had happened.....his reply was "I don't know but it's freaking me out! " This kid keeps me on my toes :)
I still haven't even posted Mya or Eli's birthday pics (not that they are super fabulous or anything, but still! ) but I will have them soon. Here's a few of my little monkey, such a cutie!

The bottom right photo ( in case you were wondering why I was showing you a mound of grass) is my little "ice cream cone" Every time we play on the playset Eli is selling ice cream. This little mound of grass/ice cream cost me $500 dollars!!! It was worth every penny :)

Growing up

This year has flown by for me and there's been a lot of new developments around our house :) Eli wrote his first letter to santa (I'll have to post a pic of it later), mailed it and is so excited for Christmas! He's so funny and always jumping from every piece of furniture to the next, climbing every thing in site, and we have so many "big boy" conversations-he cracks me up! Plus, he's been sleeping through most nights without wetting the bed (wahoo!!) and is so proud of himself. We have a few accidents here and there but we are now saving a small fortune from not having to buy pullups-wowza! I'm so proud of him and he's growing up to be quite the little cutie.

As for this little monkey, she's been pulling herself up on everything, standing all on her own for a really long time and takes 1-2 tiny little steps . She's so close and she knows she's almost there-it's been fun to watch her, being so determined. She's growing so fast too and I just love this stage-she's teetery and wobbly and oh so cute. I'm kind of sad that it's happening so fast, but I'm so proud of her and can't believe she's turning 1 year this month. {sigh} Love these kiddos, they mean the world to me.

He's got personality

If you only knew how silly, cute and fun this little guy is in person you would be amazed :) He cracks me up every day and sometimes I can't believe the things he says. He's a little ball of energy and never can sit still-I don't think calm and serene are words that come to mind. Sometimes I think I'm gonna go crazy and Taner will come home to find me sitting comatose on the couch with my eye twitching while I stare off into space, but then the rest of the time I'm filled to the brim and spilling out with so much love that I could burst. Why is it like that? He brings me so much joy that I can't imagine my life without him. Life is definitely a roller coaster but one that you don't want to miss-I enjoy every minute with Eli and I'm going to be so sad when he goes to preschool and we don't have as much time together.
Behold for yourself.......he has so many different expressions all rolled into one little boy-I just crack up every time I see this. ha ha!

.Buzz and a Moo Cow.

I just love Halloween and this year is Mya's first! I'm not sure if she's too excited to wear the cow costume I got for her but Eli is sure excited about being Buzz Lightyear, ha ha! This year is also the first time Eli has gotten the chance to pick out his own costume so I think that makes it all the more fun :) I just couldn't pass up the chance to get a few shots of them all dressed up, it seems like when they are "trick-or-treating" I always get distracted and caught up in the moment and I don't get any cute pics of them. We'll try harder this time. Hope you are all enjoying the fall season and getting ready for Halloween, I know we are around here :)

.Stinker.

Wow, this kid is all boy, let me tell you! ha ha There has been a lot of football at our house these days and Eli loves to wear his helmet all over the place. The cool thing is that this helmet used to be Taner's old helmet from when he was little so I think there's a little sentimental value to it as well :) When he's not running around tackling things and throwing random passes at you he's all full of smiles and hugs, and if you're lucky an occasional kiss! I am totally in love with this boy, he has such a big heart but so tough on the outside-he's my little teddybear :) These pics were definitely not planned, he just happened to be in his helmet and actually didn't run away when I pulled out my trusty camera....you can tell at the end, he was over it, oh and that's him showing me his HUGE muscles on the bottom right, ha ha!

.Signs.

Last weekend we went to the fair and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to grab some fun shots as well as do the You Capture Challenge which was "Signs". I love the fair and all that comes with it. To me it's a "sign" that Fall is coming and bringing cool, crisp air, all the fun fall fashion, holidays, comfort food, the leaves will be changing, and lots of baking! It's my favorite time of year and I get all excited when I can feel it in the air.
So, I saw a lot of "signs" this last weekend........signs for yummy treats, rides, signs of fall, signs that I need to exercise more :), and signs that my son is growing up entirely way too fast! He was totally into the rides, loving every second of it and when I saw him behind the wheel of a car in one of the rides, I couldn't believe just how fast the time has gone. Is this a sign that I'm getting old? Yipes!! :) Hope you enjoy your day and check out the other entries over at You Capture, it's tons of fun! :)
