{Almost}

I went to the Dr. today and I was so excited when she told me I was dilated to a 2!! I realize that sometimes people can be at that stage for quite some time, however when I was pregnant with Eli I remained at a 1 for several weeks and then had to be induced. I'm hoping this time our little girl comes on her own and I won't have to be induced at all! So, a 2 sounded great to me :) It did also strike some panic in me to think of all the things I still wanted to get done before she arrived, ha ha! I just wrapped up my Christmas shopping this evening, (give it up for online shopping!!) and now I just have to get my tree up and decorated and the rest should fall into place. Poor little Eli has been a bit sick today and I'm hoping it doesn't get much worse....I would feel terrible if my little guy was sick and I ended up having to go to the hospital leaving him with someone else. My mom doesn't come until the 22nd so if she comes early, and I'm thinking she will, Eli might have to bunk up with some friends. ( we don't have any family that live here) I'm really feeling bad about that since it is Christmas time and I don't want him to feel left out or forgotten. I've been thinking of ways to make it special for him as well and if you have any fabulous ideas, please let me know! I'd love to hear how others made siblings feel special when a new little one came along.
Besides all of that, things are going along as usual, just anticipating her arrival and enjoying the holiday season. I'll keep you posted on any new developments.....wish me luck!!
Love,
Jen

{My Pea in a Pod}

First of all, let me just apologize for how I'm going to totally overload you with pics, I had a hard time choosing which ones I liked......a big thank you goes to my awesome sis April who took these for me and then I finished the editing. I loved how they turned out especially since I don't have any pictures from when I was pregnant with Eli, except one. Can you believe it? The only regret I have is that I wanted to get a couple with Taner and Eli, and a few bare tummy shots, but Taner was gone hunting, Eli was seeing Grandma and there were hunters walking around this area so I was a little nervous about stripping in the tall grass!
So, here they are, these were taken when I was 8 months along and I don't have too much longer now! I'm getting really excited but also a little nervous. How is it going to be with two rather than one, and how is our family going to adjust to all the changes? I know everything will be fine but I'm mostly just anxious and excited to meet our new little girl. I guess I'm also kind of sad to think that this is my last month with just Eli and I'm trying to take every moment in with him. He is my little sunshine and I love him so much, I hope he'll be excited for a little sister too.
Thanks again April, you are amazing and I love you tons!

Choo choos

Eli loves his "choo choo" trains! Almost every day we pull out all of the wooden pieces to build a track and he is in heaven. Plus, could there be anything better than playing in your "big-boy" underwear? He's been doing pretty good with the potty-training business, some days are better than others but over all he's getting the hang of things. I'm crossing my fingers it will happen before his little sister gets here, but no pressure. ha ha! :)
As of last last Monday I am now 7 months along and counting! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone, I guess taking care of little man keeps me busy so I don't have tons of extra time to be thinking about it. We just got our beast of a double stroller last week and I think I really like it! It takes a little getting used to but Eli has a ball riding around in it by himself. Such a goof!!
We're getting really excited for our new baby girl and know she will be here before we know it! I've just been enjoying all of this time I have with Eli, just me and him, because I know that will change and I won't have has much time with him as I did. It's kind of sad, really, but happy at the same time. So, I'm just holding onto any little moments I have with him, he's such a sweetheart and makes me laugh all the time.

Yippee!!

I am so excited!! I just got my camera back yesterday from being cleaned and there are no spots on my pictures!! So, I can no go about like a crazy woman and take whatever pictures I like without having to fix the pics after in photoshop, glory hallelujah! This last weekend was our last one with Taner before he went back to work and we had such a good time. We got to go down to the beach and visit with his sister and her husband whom we haven't seen in a little while.  They brought some friends along who we've met before and who are so much fun and Eli had a ball of course playing in and eating the sand.  He loves the water so much that even when he is shivering and blue we still can't get him to come out of the water, not even for food! That's saying somethin'!! Sunday was spent hanging out just our little fam, enjoying the weather and the pool.  It was so nice to just relax but I was kind of sad that we wouldn't be having Taner home with us, he is really so much fun and so much help.   As for other news, I have been having this crazy craving for  cheese during this pregnancy and I just can't get enough of it! I'm like a giant mouse! I'm also still having migraines with an aura and they have been starting to get more and more frequent. Soooooo, I've been doing a little research on the triggers and how to prevent them ( cuz I'm kind of thinkin' my family might get up and leave me since I've been kinda grouchy with them) and guess what?  CHEESE and CHOCOLATE are two of the triggers that are on this ginormous list of other things I just love to eat. Including ice cream, berries, nuts...... BUMMER!! Say it isn't so!! As I sat there reading such nonsensical news, with a big chunk of cheese in my hand and having just had some chocolate the night before) I stared, utterly stunned and speechless. I guess I have some changes to make in my diet wouldn't you say? Soooo....think of me as you eat that scrumptious chocolate chip cookie or that delicious piece of cheese, I'll just be sittin' here wishing I had one, seeing them in my dreams....sigh...
